August saw 16% rise in job listings, says QuikrJobs

Mumbai: In the month of August, job listings recorded a 16 per cent increase, while in the month of September, job listings recorded a slight dip, as per QuikrJobs’ ‘India’s Blue-Collar Job Market Monthly Bulletin’. It further added that average salaries offered have seen a drop of around 15 per cent in average, with the exception of some roles like security guards.

The top roles were office assistant, drivers and delivery/collections in terms of both the demand and supply. Delivery/ collection jobs recorded a whopping increase of 30 per cent as compared to the last month. Beside top functions, there was significant demand for drivers, bartenders and construction labourers. The bulletin revealed that 10 per cent of recruiters and job seekers were both offering and looking for non-full time jobs respectively.

In September, metro cities recorded maximum hiring activity. The top seven metro cities accounted for 44 per cent of the jobs – Mumbai (10 per cent), Delhi (7 per cent), Bangalore (6 per cent), Hyderabad (6 per cent), Chennai (6 per cent), Kolkata (5 per cent) and Pune (4 per cent). The bulletin also stated that there was an increase in job opportunities in tier II and III cities and also there is no dearth of job seekers from small cities. The bulletin added that a good number of candidates looking for jobs were from small cities.
