Alka Panda appointed Director General, BIS

Mumbai : Alka Panda, IAS 1983 batch has assumed charge of the post of Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Her cadre is Orissa and hails from Rajasthan. She is a post graduate in Chemistry. Panda has served as Additional Director General on deputation with BIS. She has served in various capacities like Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, Secretary to the Government of Odisha in Agriculture Department, Women and Child Development Department and Tribal Development Department.
