Mumbai: The 8th edition of WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media India (DMI) Conference was organized with Newsroom Summit India (NRSI), powered by World Editors Forum India Chapter at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai on 19th and 20th February 2019 for publishers to discuss about digital transformation, revenue strategies, native advertising, newsroom transformation, journalism in digital world, AI & machine learning, audience engagement etc.
The event featured keynote sessions led by industry experts from the digital space who provided evidence-based research on the monetization-focused journalism.
Themed ‘Driving Revenue in Digital’, the two-day event witnessed hundreds of senior publishing executives from different countries to dive deeper into strategies for increasing reader revenue, harnessing technology as strategic driver of business and managing partnerships for growth in digital future.
The event also saw specially designed panel discussions led by thought leaders on how do advertising agencies plan their digital strategy for clients, does gender parity exist, the impact of social media on journalism, etc.
One of the panels at the Digital Media India 2019 conference comprised of Bharat Gupta, CEO, Jagran New Media and Anant Goenka, Executive Director, The Express Group, chaired by Rajiv C Lochan, Managing Director and CEO, The Hindu Group who discussed the possibility of how publishers can garner larger share of the digital revenues.
‘How to build a newsroom culture’ workshop by Michael Cooke, Former editor, Toronto Star, Canada was conducted to help participants build future initiatives at their respective companies and manage change processes around digital.
