TRIFED is a national level co-operative society which works under the administrative control of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Its objective is to empower the tribal community. In this direction, with the sincere efforts and efficient guidance of Administrator Praful Patel and with the support of TRIFED, two new TRIFED India Outlets were inaugurated Monday in the Union Territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Till now there were 135 such outlets in the whole country but today with the commencement of two more outlets, now the number of outlets has increased to 137.
It is worth mentioning that through these TRIFED stores there are textiles, tribal paintings, bamboo and cane crafts, organic and natural food products, tribal jewellery, metal works, pottery, gir cow ghee, rice, red wheat etc. can be purchased. Through TRIFED shops, on the one hand, a source of income will be available to the tribals of the state, while on the other hand it is made by skilled tribal artisans. Especially at a time when the pandemic is affecting their income and livelihood. Availability of items manufactured by these tribals will be ensured for the tourists coming to this state. This will attract tourists and the Union Territory will be able to develop and promote tourism.
The Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Administration is committed to empower the tribals socially and financially and both of the above have been done with the efficient guidance and leadership of Hon'ble Administrator Praful Patel and the active initiative of Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, Pooja Jain. TRIFED shops were launched at various places. Through which positive change can be brought soon for the tribal artisans.
