Since college days, anything and everything about Krishnacaught my attention. As time passed by he became an integral part of my coregroup whom I consider to be inseparable part of my life till this date. Beingan ardent reader nothing escaped from my sight which had a mention of Krishnaor something written about this universal charmer. During one such Krishnatrail, I stumbled upon Osho’s understanding of Krishna.

Osho writes: It is really arduous to understand Krishna. Itis easy to understand that a man should run away from the world if he wants tofind peace, but it is really difficult to accept that one can find peace in thethick of the marketplace. It is understandable that a man can attain to purityof mind if he breaks away from his attachments, but it is really difficult torealise that one can remain unattached and innocent in the very midst ofrelationships and attachments, that one can remain calm and still live at thevery center of cyclone. So it is difficult even for those who are close toKrishna to understand him.

Today, after two decades of my above read if anyone has comeclosest to understanding Krishna is Deep Trivedi, a pioneer in spiritualpsychodynamics and author of I am Krishna the first voluminous chronologicalaccounting of Krishna’s entire life, right from his birth to his death.Spanning across six volumes, Trivedi in his first one introduced readers tobirth of the glorious hero giving every reader to play with little Krishna andbe a part of his early childhood. In I am Krishna: Trials and Triumphs inMathura, the author leaps forward from where he left in the previous one.

Throughout the read, one can get a personal feel of interactingor rather listening to Krishna about his journey and what he is recognised andworshipped for today. Trivedi’s expertise in the subject and vast experience ofpublic deliverance has assisted him as well as his readers to get up close andpersonal with Krishna thorough this biography. Every chapter in his biographyis an enlightening experience in itself. For instance, in the very firstchapter ‘Turning down the throne of Mathura’, and through the acts and wisdomof Krishna, the author touches upon most basic problem of human psyche: To beor not to be? What are the pros and cons of accepting a particularresponsibility in life? What is right and what is wrong? All these and manymore such dualities of mind are answered through Krishna’s refusal to be theKing of Mathura.

Similarly, in ‘Education: An Enlightening Phase’, Krishnanarrates to us about his learning phase in an ashram under the tutelage ofAcharya Sandipani. It reflects a lot upon the character of Krishna as a learnerand touches upon some of the most basic but valuable lessons in life.

The more you read, the more you understand Krishna. The moreyou understand Krishna, the more you love him. So, whoever wants to interactwith Krishna, he is just a turn of a page away.
