Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood proves time and again that there is hope in humanity. Rightly hailed as ‘Nation’s Hero’, the actor provided relief to hundreds during the most difficult period and has never once backed down from.
So, it only comes naturally for Sonu to do something philanthropic for his birthday. The actor undertook the mission of educating underprivileged youngsters through upgrading existing schools and building a new school at Kankuri near Shirdi. This initiative has never been done before by anyone.
When asked about his noble gesture, Sood replied “The main plan is to provide education to the kids from tribal and Covid affected families who had to forgo education due to unforeseen circumstances."
Apart from providing education, the another aim of the project is to create employment opportunities for the villagers and improve the literacy rate in the tribal areas. The project will be part of the Sood Charity Foundation that has been working actively since 2020.
The actor has often dedicated his endorsements and funds to multiple projects that help bring light to the plights of common man as well as help facilitate a better lifestyle for them.
Sonu Sood was propelled to the limelight when he came up as a messiah for the migrant workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns.
The actor went out of his way to ensure the workers reach their homes safely, and even came to the rescue of people who had lost their jobs, needed financial help, required hospital beds or oxygen, among other things.
On the film front, the actor was recently seen essaying a key role in Akshay Kumar's historical drama 'Samrat Prithviraj'.
