Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has been making headlines for her involvement in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. She has recently replied to the authorities of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, who have attached her several Fixed Deposits.
Her investments were attached by the authority after Jacqueline’s name emerged in the 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh.
According to ANI, the actress has now maintained that her FDs have no connection to Sukesh and were created even before the conman 'existed'.
On Wednesday, ANI tweeted, "The actor in a reply to adjudicating authorities of PMLA stated that the Fixed Deposits, attached vide the impugned order, have no nexus with a crime nor the Fixed Deposits are created by using the alleged proceeds of crime."
"The deposits are from the actor’s 'own legitimate of income and much before in time from even knowing that the main accused Chandrashekhar even existed in this world'," another tweet read.
Earlier today, the actress was spotted at Mumbai airport. However, she wasn't her usual chirpy self with the paparazzi as they clicked her while she walked in without posing by.
She seemed to be avoiding the shutterbugs as she swiftly walked past them inside the airport. She also carried a tablet and a 'The Palace of Illusions' book in her hand.
For the unawares, Jacqueline has been named as an accused in the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in the extortion case connected to Sukesh.
The ED chargesheet clearly stated that "during the investigation, statements of the 'Housefull 2' actor were recorded on 30.08.2021 and 20.10.2021, Jacqueline said she received gifts viz. 3 designer bags from Gucci, Chanel, and 2 Gucci outfits for gym wear. A pair of Louis Vuitton shoes. 2 pairs of diamond earrings and a bracelet of multi-coloured stones and 2 Hermes bracelets. She also received a Mini Cooper which she returned."
On the work front, Jacqueline was recently seen in a guest appearance role in Kichcha Sudeepa's 'Vikrant Rona,' which was her first pan-India film.
She will be next seen in director Abhishek Sharma's next film 'Ram Setu' alongside Akshay Kumar and Nushrratt Bharuccha. The film is all set to hit the theatres on the occasion of Diwali 2022. She also has Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’ alongside Ranveer Singh in her kitty.
