Even before its release, Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie 'Ram Setu' has landed in legal trouble as BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has decided to sue the actor as well as the makers.
Swamy took to his Twitter handle to state that he will seek compensation from the makers for false portrayal of Ram Setu in the film.
"The suit for compensation has been finalised by my associate Satya Sabharwal Adv. I am suing Akshay Kumar, actor & Karma Media for damages caused by falsification in the portrayal of the Ram Setu issue in their film for release," his tweet read.
Not just that, but Swamy also took a dig at Akshay's Canadian citizenship and wrote, "If Actor Akshay Kumar is a foreign citizen then we can ask he be arrested and evicted his adopted country."
'Ram Setu' stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satyadev in key roles opposite Akshay.
Reportedly, the film is an action-adventure drama that brings forward a story deeply rooted in Indian cultural and historical heritage.
The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra. 'Ram Setu' is scheduled for a Diwali 2022 release.
