Bhopal: Twenty seven more blood samples of persons suspected to be infected with Zika virus, including pregnant women, have been sent for testing from the containment area on Tuesday. Over 100 blood samples have been collected from the posh colonies which have been marked as containment area. DMO Dr Akhilesh Dubey said, “Survey as well as mosquito control work plan are being carried on at war-footing in containment. Fogging has been intensified in the areas of the containment where Zika patients have been detected.” Blood samples are sent to AIIMS and then Pune based virology laboratory for confirmation. Central team of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MHoFW) constituted a containment area considering Char Imi a core affected area.
