BHOPAL : The body of a youth was found floating near the Raja Bhoj statue in the Upper Lake besides VIP Road within the limits of Talaiya police station on Saturday morning. Talaiya police following the information reached the spot and fished out the body. Later on the basis of the identity proof found in the pocket of the trouser of the deceased his identity was ascertained. Investigation officer ASI Anil Shukla said that around 8 am diver Imran informed the police that the body of a youth was floating in the Upper Lake besides VIP Road. Police reached the spot following the information and fished the body out. The body looked 1-2 days old as it had swollen. Later on searching his clothes the police found an ID proof on the basis of which the deceased was identified as Amir Khan, 24, son of Sheru Khan, resident of Badhaipur Noormahal within the limits of Kotwali police station. His family members were informed and the body was handed over to them after post-mortem examination.
It is yet not clear whether the youth committed suicide or fell accidentally in the lake as no signs of injury were seen on the body. Police have registered a case and started investigations.
In another incident an 18-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming celphos on Friday. She was rushed to Chirayu Hospital by the family members where she died while undergoing treatment.
According to Bairagarh police Jaya Manjhi, 18, daughter of Pappulal Manjhi, resident of Behta Village within the limits of Bairagarh police station consumed celphos on Friday morning and died at Chirayu Hospital while undergoing treatment.
