BHOPAL : The Habibganj police, on Thursday morning, nabbed a young resident of Bihar in police uniform smuggling 705 gm of Charas worth Rs 50,000 from Habibganj Railway Station. He was wearing police uniform to avoid police checking.
TI Habibganj Sudhir Arjaria said that the drug was recovered from the pockets of his uniform. The accused was nabbed from platform number 1 of Habibganj railway station in police uniform and while he was preparing to leave for Itarsi.
He was identified as Anurag Pratap Singh, 20, son of Vinaynarayan Singh, resident of Motihari Bihar.
On quizzing he said that he came to the city in the year 2014 and took admission in Hamidia college where he completed BCom first year. Later he took admission in Jawaharlal Nehru College, Shyamla Hills, and was living at Subhash Colony in Ashoka Garden.
The accused informed that during his stay he got addicted to Ganja and charas and came in contact with a youth in Itwara who later offered him job. He was given Rs 2000 for delivering the drugs. He started drug peddling in police uniform after getting idea from Crime Petrol serial.
