BHOPAL : The City police, on Friday nabbed two miscreants, travelling in a yellow beacon-mounted vehicle, for allegedly trying to extort money from a man at Kotra Sultanabad under Kamla Nagar police station area on Friday.

According to the police, the victim Arvind Singh Raghuvanshi, who runs a video shooting business and owns a studio alleged that Rohit Singh alias Mannu (23) and Sonu Rajak (25)  demanded Rs 2000 from him saying that they were nephews of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and had good contacts with senior police officers.

However when Arvind refused to pay them, they started beating him after which a complaint was lodged by him with the Kamla Nagar police on Thursday.  Investigating Officer TI Kamla Nagar Balmukund said that on Thursday night at around 11:30 pm the victim and accused had a dispute over some petty issue. The victim Arvind Singh Raghuvanshi lodged a complaint and claimed that Rohit Singh and Sonu Rajak, who were in a yellow beacon-mounted car bearing registration number MP 04 TA 3583 tried to extort money and when he refused to pay they thrashed him. The victim and accused are acquainted with one other and live in the same locality. The vehicle is attached with the office of Magistrate UC Jain at Narmada Valley Development Authority.
