BHOPAL : The state BJP government will spend over Rs five crore for holding grand yoga shows on June 21 to mark the World Yoga Day. The Day is being promoted by the Modi government. With the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan according high priority to the show, senior officials have issued instructions to divisional commissioners and district collectors to monitor preparations and hold the event under their supervision.
School education department has allotted Rs ten lakh to each district for arranging the main function at district headquarters. Similar shows will be held at Panchayat and Block levels too. Rs 15 lakh each have been allotted to Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur districts.
The government has asked district collectors to monitor the event and assign responsibilities to SDMs and others to hold similar programme at block headquarters.
Ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, civic body heads and District panchayat presidents and other public representatives will be invited in the function. Officials said, if more funds are required, the district collectors will manage it at local level and get from civic bodies.
If government yoga instructors are not available, services of private yoga training centres and coaching institutes should be obtained but without paying any fee.
