BHOPAL : Labour Minister Antar Singh Arya has said that the President of India has given his consent on the Bill sent by the state regarding making provisions and procedure of Central Labour Laws, liberal and easy. It would benefit workers, industries, investors and the state. The Bill (Madhya Pradesh Labour Law (amendment) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 2015) includes provisions like increase in hours of overtime of workers willing more income, women to work in night shifts with safety conditions, facility of salary with leave for working for 180 days than 240 days in the same calendar year, provision of automatic issue of license/ registration if the same is not issued in 30 days, the facility of permission of lay off to institutions having 300 or more workers. The said Act has been implemented in the state.
There are several industries including call centres where women wish to work in night shifts.
If these industries ensure safety of women then permission for employment of women at night from 8pm to 6am can be given. It would enhance productivity and improve financial condition of the state. A provision has been made regarding Industrial Disputes Act according to which there is arrangement of minimum 3 months notice with 3 months salary for scrutiny of workers.
Similarly, the process of registration and licence has also been made simple, clear, transparent and time-bound. The applications for registration and licences related to building, contractual labour, motor transport, workers and inter-state migration workers will be automatically considered if they are not issued in 30 days.
