Mhow : Groups of women dressed in a special manner to offer prayers on the occasion of Sheetla Saptami were seen in various parts of the military town since early Thursday morning and performed prayers at local temples throughout the day.
To mark the day of Sheetla Saptami, the devotees take bath early in the morning and visit the temple of Goddess Sheetla.
Some people who have recovered from pox or those who want to avoid getting it perform ‘mundan’ or head shave in the honor of the Goddess.
People eat meal cooked a day before reheating the food after offering it to the goddess Sheetla.
