Woman robbed of Rs-40,000 gold chain

BHOPAL : A 54-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified bike-borne robbers near ICICI Bank Shahpura Branch in posh E-7 Arera Colony on Tuesday evening at around 6.30 pm while she was going to purchase medicines from a drug store. No case was lodged by the Habibganj police till the filing of the report.

Chartered Accountant Satpal Singh, resident of Punjabi Bagh and the son-in-law of the victim lady talking to Free Press said that Uma Chandreshekhar, wife of K Chandreshekhar, resident of E-7/33 Vijaya Apartments was going to buy some medicines from a drug store close to her house on Tuesday evening at around 6.30 pm. In the meantime, two unidentified bike-borne-youth came from behind, snatched her gold chain and fled on their bike. The looted chain was around 15 grams in weight and was worth around Rs 40,000. Shell-shocked lady could not recall any details of the robbers. Singh said that they had complained about the incident to the Habibganj police on Tuesday evening itself. But the Habibganj police denied having received any such complaint. TI Sudhir Arjaria did not answer the calls of this reporter.
