Woman loses Rs 2 Lakh jewellery on bus

BHOPAL :  Jewellery worth Rs 2.80 lakh was stolen from the bag of passenger in a low-floor bus at ISBT on Friday. However, the bag was not cut open by the culprit to steal the box containing jewellery. Police have registered a case of theft against the unidentified miscreants.

Rajni Rai had boarded a low-floor bus from Gehunkheda (Kolar) to go to ISBT at around 12pm as she had to catch a bus for Begumganj. When she reached ISBT, she found jewellery box missing from the bag and she immediately approached the cops.

As per police sources, Rai had a bag in which she had kept clothes and other things. There was another small bag in the big bag, in which box of jewellery was stuffed.  Zips of the bag were not opened and all other things were there except the jewellery box. Besides, there was no incision on bag. Police also searched for the jewellery box in the bus with complainant but did not find any lead or clue.
