Dhar : The city resident woman got her son’s custody from her husband and in- laws due to an immediate action taken by the Collector Jaishree Kiyawat during the ‘ Jan Sunwai’ held on Tuesday at the collector office.
Sapna W/ O Shiva currently lives with her father but her three year old son was kept by her husband and in- laws. Sapna appealed to get her son’s custody from her husband at the weekly held ‘ jan Sunwai’ of collector.
Collector Kiyawat instructed the district women empowerment officer Subhash Jain to investigate the matter and bring back the child to her mother. On the instructions of women empowerment officer Jain, the family consultation team member Jyoti Nighojkar asked the Mandav resident husband and in- laws to come to the officer for discussion over the matter. The discussion with the family was completed in three steps and it was informed that legally a child younger than 6 year is kept in the custody of mother only. Since Sapna’s son is only 3 year old, he should be living with his mother. The family consultation team member Nifhojkar and advocate Ashvini Tomar advised the couple to reach to a reconciliation adjustment.
