BHOPAL : A woman and her two daughters were charred to death in a fire that broke out due to short circuit in a house at Idgah Road in Ganjbasoda in Vidisha district on Tuesday noon.
Israel Miyan is a Kulfi vendor. He had gone to market for selling Kulfi while his wife Sabina, 27, daughters Shifa, 3, and Afroja, 7, went to sleep at home. In the afternoon, a fire caused by short circuit engulfed the entire house and they all got trapped inside. Fire engines were called but by the time they reached everything had turned to ashes and the three were dead. SDOP RR Bansal said, “The house was pucca but its roof was thatched with straw and polythene which instantly catches fire.”
SP DS Chaudhary said, “The room was latched from inside so people were initially helpless. Ultimately, they broke the door and tried to douse the fire. But till than it was too late. We rushed immediately and fire engines were summoned but it was too late” MLA Ganjbasoda Nishank Jain said, “Officials rushed to spot on getting information. The fire spread instantly and everything was over”.
