BHOPAL: A lecture on the topic ‘Wetlands for our future: Sustainable Livelihoods’ was held on Tuesday at Regional Museum of Natural History. Dr Vipin Vyas of Barkatullah University delivered a lecture on the topic. Researchers from the University and staff members attended the programme.
Dr Vyas in his lecture explained the importance of wetlands. He said Wetlands are treasure of many biological products and are a source of livelihood for many people. Dr Vyas said we are losing wetlands in the wake of development. The pond at the main museum building along with sunken bridge was revived for the visitors. They were introduced to aquatic plants. Dr Beenish Rafat, Manik Lal Gupta and others were present on the occasion.
