BHOPAL : The Lokayukta police, on Tuesday evening, nabbed a regional manager of Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 at his office in Gautam Nagar for releasing the monthly rent and subsidy of a rented warehouse located on Bhopal-Indore Highway.
SP Lokayukta Virendra Singh said that complainant Rajendra Bagga in his complaint to the Lokayukt office on September 16 had stated that he had taken a loan from the MP Warehousing and Logistics Corporation for building a warehouse in Bakania Village on Bhopal Indore Highway. The warehousing corporation had taken it on lease and the lease rent along with subsidy was payable to him every month.
He said that Sanjay Tomar, posted as regional manager in the department was demanding a sum of Rs 1 lakh as bribe for releasing his monthly rent and subsidy, of which he had already paid him Rs 50000 earlier and Rs 20000 on September 16.
Acting on the complaint the Lokayukta team instructed him to go and pay the remaining amount of Rs 30,000 on Tuesday in the office and gave him chemically treated currency notes. On Tuesday evening around 4.15 pm when Bagga reached and handed over the bribe to Tomar at his office in Gautam Nagar, the Lokayukta cops in civvies present in the office nabbed him red-handed.
