BHOPAL : The walled city is already congested. So Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration is supposed to focus more on walled city as far as proper sanitation is concerned but BMC looks hardly bothered about it. If garbage is dumped in container, it is not lifted for week. So it is highly deplorable condition.
Ginnori, which is part of the walled city happens to face the brunt of the laxity of BMC administration, which seems to have failed in providing proper sanitation. The garbage is not lifted in time.
People launch sanitation drive at their own level by gathering locals. They tried to show that they are not dependent on BMC administration as far sanitation is concerned. Poor sanitation invites many seasonal and viral diseases.
It is laxity on the part of the BMC administration. Stray animals scatter the dumped garbage. Once in a week, BMC send the garbage lifting van to lift the garbage. There must be proper sanitation, especially in the walled city as there is congested lane and roads.”

We have to make calls to call centre for the garbage van. Then BMC sends it. Ward officials do not take calls so we have to call up the call centre. It is pitiable condition BMC does not take sanitation seriously. In fact, sanitation is one of the major jobs of BMC.”

We launched sanitation drive at ourselves. We gather locals and launch to ensure proper sanitation in our lanes. Such practices are better as it reduces the dependency on BMC and it is also eye opener for BMC administration. Basic work should be taken into hand at priority.
