BHOPAL : A group of 60-70 persons led by Shri M is on a Padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Objective: To rebuild the unity of the nation.
The 7,500-km journey which began on January 12 this year, will take 500 days to complete and the group will travel through 11 states, raising awareness and bringing together citizens from all walks of life. It would complete in April 2016 at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir
Traversing the varied landscape of India, it seeks a significantly restored nation – fit enough to be bequeathed to our future generations. The Padayatra has been named ‘Walk of Hope’ and it reached Madhya Pradesh on September 22.
Shri M, who was in the city on Sunday, said that the aim of the Padayatra was to create a sense of unity in the people of our country. “If we study history we would find that India has been a very peace-loving country but people have forgotten our old values and the result is communal violence. He said that the members of the Walk of Hope meet people if different communities in the different cities that fall on the route and spread the message of communal harmony.
“Nirahar Satyagrah” (fast) would be observed by Sri M and his fellow walkers at Manas Bhawan, Polytechnic Chauraha from 8.00 am till 5.00 pm on Tuesday.
