Bhikangaon : Various villages of Bhikangaon Tehsil are not getting drinking water for past few months. They are bound to drink the polluted water of canal, which is very harmful for them. After drinking the canal water, the villagers are suffering of serious diseases.
Due to this severe water crisis, the women residents of village could not be able to use the toilets in their houses and bound to go in open. About 40 women of village Kholwa near here arrived here and met the Bhikangaon Tehsildar Pratap Singh Avasya and Janpad CEO Mahendra Kumar Shrivastav and lodged their complaint to both the officials. The women said in their complaint that no any drinking water source is there in their village. One tube-well and on well is there in the village, but that too have no water.
The women residents of village Nasreen Bee and Salma Bee informed the officials that after drinking the polluted canal water, their children became ill. Meanwhile, the village Panch Hasim Khan and Firoz Khan said that majority of Muslim families reside in the village and there is no water in the village mosque to perform Vazu.
The villagers said that government is giving subsidy to construct toilets in the house, but the villagers could not be able take the benefit of that scheme due to water crisis.
