BHOPAL : The guests were welcomed to the beats of drums and petals of rose showered by students dressed in traditional attire on the second day of Billabong High International School’s tenth anniversary celebrations.
The venue was transformed into a scene from a village fair aptly titled ‘Virse di Chau’ with thatched huts selling traditional wares, women applying henna, a potter’s wheel churning beautiful clay objects, a Chaupal or village square with the Panchayat in attendance, camel rides and games galore bringing a welcome respite from the dreary humdrum of everyday city life.
Traditional dances from various states of India and the exotic flavour of folk plays added to the charm and beauty created especially for the parents and guests.
As the sun went down to the beats of traditional music, a scene fit for a painter, parents dressed in traditional attire tasted the flavours of the impressive spread laid out by ‘Pind Baluchi’ keeping the theme of the evening in mind.
