BHOPAL: The Bhartiya Janta Party MLA of Chandla from Chattarpur district will launch an agitation against the illegal sand mining in the area. The MLA has written a letter to the CM and the mining minister to take action into the matter. MLA RD Prajapati informed Free Press that the sand is quarried from the banks of Ken River passing through his constituency area. Every day around 1000 trucks of illegal sand mining are taking place.  The revenue and the forest department are not taking any action into the matter. He also added that the block and village level officers workers are deeply involved in the corruption they have earned crores from the sand mafias. He added that more than 150 villages are badly affected due to mining, the contractors have hired the people from Uttar Pradesh, who are creating problems to the local residents. “They are entering forcefully in the houses of the people to satisfy their misdeed, women of the area are not safe”.  (FPNS) He added that the letter has been written to the chief minister and the mining minister, the CM is on the China tour and after his returning he will have a meeting with him.

“If the CM does not take action into the matter I will launch agitation in my constituency”. He claimed.
