Vehicle lifters’ gang caught; 12 bikes seized

BHOPAL: The Shahjehanabad police, on Tuesday, claimed to have busted a two-wheeler vehicle lifters’ gang with the arrest of its six members including a minor during a vehicle checking drive at Sanjay Tarun Pushkar on Monday.Besides their arrest, the police have also recovered a dozen stolen bikes valued at upwards of Rs 3 lakhs from their possession.

Police said the arrested accused were identified as Danish alias Ajaruddin (20), a resident of Kotwali, Akbar alias Bhaiya (18), from Shahjehanabad, Babar alias Chote (19) from Koh-e-Fiza, Mohd Sazid alias Chotu (19) from Shahjehanabad and Amir Khan (19)  and a minor boy from Kotwali.

Police said Danish was a habitual criminal and several cases including those of loot, theft and burglary were registered against him.During further interrogation of the police, all the arrested accused confessed to having stolen 12 bikes from different areas of the city including Talaiya, Shahjehanabad, Hanumanganj, Mangalwara, Jehangirabad and Kotwali. They used to sell these stolen bikes in Dewas and Sehore.
