BHOPAL : Varad Puntambekar of Bhopal secured 15th All India rank (AIR) in AIIMS Entrance Examination. Results were declared on June 18. Eleven candidates from the city figure in the merit list.Mohammed Mustafa Nawaz secured 83rd AIR while Nikhil Agrawal bagged 264th position in merit list. Amartya Agrawal secured 426th position. The merit positions of other candidates were: Kritika Upadhyay (1015), Dakshaja Vaidya (1066), Yogshri Chaubey (1213), Swanil Chaudhary (1300), Lucky Patidar (1583), Akanksha Yadav (2135) and Kunal Patel (4870). This was Varad’s first attempt. He did his schooling from DPS, Bhopal. Varad said, “I will prefer AIIMS Delhi. I attribute my success to Anil Agrawal of Tripti Classes who guided me. All the teachers helped me in clearing the basic concepts of various subjects.”
Attributing his success to his teachers, Mohammed Mustafa, a dropper, said, “I worked hard in a planned manner. It was my second chance so the stakes were high. Though I was a bit demoralised due to my earlier failure to make it but I continued my studies and got success with a good rank. I will prefer AIIMS Bhopal. My teachers helped me a lot”. He said AIIMS entrance is totally different from AIPMT as GK questions are asked in the entrance and biology is given much less weightage than in other medical entrances tests.
