BHOPAL : The city police, on Monday located the mother of the newborn baby, who was thrown into a dustbin soon after the delivery, behind a school in South TT Nagar area on Sunday night. The mother of the girl child is a resident of Junnaardeo in Chhindwara district and is presently undergoing treatment at 1250 hospital.
According to information, the 25-year-old mother of the girl child identified as Geeta alias Anjali Suryavanshi is unmarried who came to Bhopal 20 days ago at her elder sister’s place Babita in South TT Nagar for the delivery of the child. On Sunday evening, she went into labour, after which she delivered the child at her sister’s place.
After the delivery of the child, they threw the girl-child in the dustbin of Deepshikha School where her sister works as cook while husband Ganga Prasad works as guard.
Since the condition of accused woman also started to deteriorate following delivery, her sister took him to JP hospital for treatment. According to information, a resident of South TT Nagar heard crying of a child. He initially thought that some neighbours’ child is crying but when even after long time the crying did not stop. He started searching and shocked to found a newborn girl child shivering due to cold in dustbin with ants creeping on her body.
Reportedly, the school administration informed the police that sister of a woman employee was pregnant and could be the mother of this girl child. The accused woman has reportedly told the police that she was betrayed in a love affair. She got pregnant but her boyfriend Sandeep Mehra refused to marry her but by the time it was too late to abort the child so she came to Bhopal at her sister’s place and delivered the child.
Meanwhile, the girl child is undergoing treatment at Kamla Nehru hospital where her condition is said to be stable. Police have registered a case under section 317 of IPC against accused mother and are investigating into the case.
