BHOPAL: Unidentified miscreants targeted and vandalised 20 cars parked in Kotara, Nehru Nagar and adjoining Gitanjali Complex on late Thursday night. The residents in the area woke up to find windshield smashed and window panes broken.
Local congress corporators did not shy away from linking the incident to the assembly poll results Madan Mohan Malviya, SHO Kamla Nagar said that over 20 vehicles were vandalised by miscreants in three localities. We are trying to recover the CCTV camera footages of the areas to identify the culprits, said Malviya.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident, he added. Aggrieved residents, led by Local corporators Santosh Kasana and Pradeep Saxena called on newly elected MLA PC Sharma and apprised him of the incident. Later they along with MLA approached Kamla Nagar police station and lodged a complaint. Angry residents raised slogans demanding action against the people responsible for the vandalism. Santosh Kasana, corporator Nehru Nagar, however, said that the incident has something to do with the Assembly poll results.
Kasana said as per initial reports 20 vehicles have been vandalised, however the number could go up as not all people have reported the matter as yet. The Kotra corporator also claimed that around 20 vehicles were damaned in his area. Ramesh Vishwakarma who runs a shop in Kotra said that he had parked his car in front of his shop, in the morning he found the glasses of the car broken. He said that the incident might have occurred around 2 in the night, he however had no clue about the people behind it.
