Proposal pending with the Union government for around 3 years

BHOPAL:  Higher and Technical education minister Umashankar Gupta met Union home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday and requested the latter to get Madhya Pradesh University (Amendment) Bill-2011 regarding establishment of Maharaja Chatrasal Bundelkhand University, Chattarpur cleared. The proposal is pending with the Union government for around 3 years.

Gupta said with Dr Harisingh Gaur University, Sagar getting the status of Central University 2009, the new colleges in the area are not being given affiliation. He said state government’s property worth Rs 400 crore had been transferred to the Sagar University being upgraded into a Central University. In this series, a proposal of grant of Rs 400 crore by the Central government is also pending. Gupta requested Singh to get the said proposal approved. Gupta also met Union minister for parliamentary affairs M Venkaiah Naidu and Union minister for social justice, Thawarchand Gehlot.
