BHOPAL : After attaining a record 51 per cent market share in India, UC Web, a business within Alibaba Group’s mobile business division and the maker of mobile browser, UC Browser, is increasing its focus on tier-2 and 3 cities of India through localised content and data saving
features. The company is banking on its cloud-computing technology that can compress data by up to 80 per cent and thus speed up the browsing, helping consumers save on data usage. UC Browser is now faster than ever, bundled with unique localisation features and content for its Indian customers.
UCWeb has seen staggering success in the Indian market with its market share rising a steep 15 per cent in last 12 months alone. Recently, the company hit a new milestone, registering over 51 per cent in India, as per StatCounter. As of today, 1 of every 2 mobile page viewed in India is accessed via UC Browser.
