BHOPAL : Two persons died in road accidents in the city in the last 24 hours.In the first incident two-bike-borne youth were run over by a speeding Hyundai i20 car on Wednesday night around 11.45 pm in front of Administration Academy. One of the youths died on the spot while the other sustained severe head injuries. The Habibganj police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Narmada Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
TI Sudhir Arjaria said that the deceased was identified as Pushparaj Uddey, 24 son of Laxman Singh, resident of Bilaspur, while the injured was identified as Kushagra Chourey, 22, both the youth were the students of Mansarovar Dental College and were returning to their home in Misrod and Kolar area from Bittan Market. The accident took place around 11.45 pm when a speeding i20 (MP04 CL 9534) car lost control and hit their bike in front of Administration Academy. At the time of the accident there was one girl and some boys on board the car and they were said to be drunk according to the onlookers. Deceased Pushparaj and Kushagra were also said to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Police on Thursday nabbed Pragati Vishwakarma, daughter of GR Vishwakarma, resident of Tulsi Nagar, in connection with the accident as she was driving the car and registered a case under section 304 A against her.
In the second incident a 19-year-old youth died on spot while 3 others were injured in a bicycle-bike accident at Chanjod village on Bhojpur Road on Wednesday evening. The Misrod police following the information reached the spot and rushed the injured to the hospital. Investigation officer ASI Rajkumar Dangi said that the deceased was identified as Anuj Uikey, 19, son of Shivkumar Uikey, resident of Jatkhedi village within the limits of Misrod police station. Anuj along with his two friends was going to Bhojpur by his friend’s bike. He was riding pillion and was seated in the middle of both of them.
when the bike hit the bicycle of Basant Namdev, who works as a gardener at Maharshi Ashram and was returning from duty. Anuj died on the spot while his two friends and Namdev sustained injuries in the accident.
