Two houses burgled, booty worth Rs 5 lakh gone

BHOPAL : In two house-breaking incidents, which were reported from Piplani and Ayodhya Nagar area, burglars swept away with a collective booty worth Rs 5 lakh.

The incident of thefts came to light when the house owners returned to Bhopal and spotted their houses burgled. Subsequently, they lodged complaints of theft with police station concerned. In the first incident, Wazir Ansari, 30, resident of Nizamuddin Colony, Indrapuri who works as a property dealer. He had locked his house and along with family went to Indore on Saturday. Complainant’s father Naseeruddin Ansari is a retired professor.

The thieves broke open the lock of the house in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Once inside, they swept the house clean by grabbing gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh and Rs 60,000 cash and decamped. The theft came to notice on Sunday night when Wazir returned home. He then lodged a complaint with Piplani Police Station. The police booked the unidentified thieves under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and are investigating the matter further.

In the second incident of house-breaking, burglars targeted a businessman’s residence located at Ayodhya Nagar area when he was out of station with family after locking the house. According to police, the robbery occurred between Friday and Sunday. Shekhar 42, son of RP Shrivastava, a resident of Ahinsa Colony owns a business of construction materials. In his complaint Shekhar stated that on October 29, he along with other family members went to Shahdol to visit their relatives. However, on Sunday night when he returned to Bhopal, he was shocked to see that his house was burgled and thieves had made away with the cash and gold jewellery all to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh. Following the complaint of victim, Ayodhya Nagar police have registered a case of theft against unidentified thieves and launched a manhunt to nab them.
