BHOPAL : The Economic Offence Wing may corner the former chief minister Digvijay Singh with the help of the two former chief secretaries of the state.
The EOW has filed the case against the former chief minister Digvijay Singh, former higher education minister Raja Pateria and the director of the RKDF college for giving undue financial benefits to the college.
The case had been filed in EOW on December 2015 against them and two former chief secretaries – the then CS AV Singh and the then principal secretary of technical education R Parshuram, who later become chief secretary of state, had filed their statement in the EOW.
In their statement they have told EOW, that they had informed the CM and the minister that the penalty exemption could not be done. They had imposed the penalty of Rs 24 lakh on the RKDF college for giving unlawful admission in the engineering course.
But the minister and the CM over-ruled them and told the college to pay the penalty of Rs 5 lakh.
The EOW is planning to present the CSs into the court as a witness.
Notably the former CM Digvijay Singh has already alleged that the state government is saving the officers. And importantly the orders related to exemptions were issued by these two officers.
