Two chain snatchers caught, 7 chains recovered

BHOPAL: The Jehangirabad police arrested two more chain snatchers and recovered 7 gold chains and one mangalsutra with pendant worth Rs 4 lakh from them on Tuesday. However, their third accomplice managed to flee. Two stolen bikes were also recovered from them.

They used to snatch chain using these stolen bikes.Those who have been arrested include Sabir alias Sabbe and Mohammed Ali alias Kalua. Both are of Irani Dera, Nishatpura. Zuber and Israr are still at large. Police carried on search in various areas like Govindpura, Aishbag, Jahangirabad and Ashoka Garden after it got information that three suspicious youths were seen in the area, Police swung into action and detained two of them who introduced themselves as Sabir and Mohammed Ali. Zuber managed to flee. Another Israr is still at large.

ASP Dilip Tomar said, “Seven gold chain and managalsutra worth Rs 4 lakh have been recovered from them. Two bikes which they used in committing the crime, have also seized from them. A couple of days ago, 12 chains were recovered from two chain snatchers”.
