Were planning to sell consignment of traders

BHOPAL: Acting on a tip- off, Talaiya police, on Tuesday, arrested two youths near Shahjehani Park while they were planning to sell the stolen sacks of wheat and gram worth Rs 10 lakh loaded in truck.

Beside their arrest, the police have recovered stolen 18 tons of gram and 25 tons of wheat along with a truck bearing registration number MP 09 KD 8283 costing Rs 10 lakhs from their possession.

Police said, both the arrested accused have been identified as Jitendra Sahu ( 25) from Sukhi Sewaniya and Raees Khan ( 24) from Barkhedi Fatak in Aishbagh.

TI, Talaiya, T. Sapre said during the further interrogation of police, arrested accused Jitendra told the police that one year ago, he had got a truck financed from Shree Ram Finance Company, which was damaged in a road accident and in order to clear his installments, Jitendra planned to steal the goods which he gets to transport through his truck and later sell it to other party.

For executing his plan, Jitendra included his accomplice Raees for this work and a month ago, he took 200 sacks of gram ( 18 tons) to his home at Sukhi Sewaniya in his truck by changing number plate, instead of delivering it to Dewas from Damoh and similarly took 250 quintal of wheat to his house from Narisnghpur instead of delivering it to Indore.

Meanwhile, they were caught red- handed by the police following the tip- off from informer while planning to sell the stolen goods to purchasers.
