Bhopal, Former examination controller of MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), Pankaj Trivedi may soon walk out of the jail. The High Court, on Tuesday, granted him bail in the case of owning property disproportionate to known sources of income. There were 12 cases registered against him and he had been already bailed out in 11 cases.
He was arrested by the STF on September 27, 2013 and was in jail since then.
In addition to Trivedi, three more ex-officials of Vyapam are facing charges in the multi-layered scam. They are: former principal system analysts Nitin Mahindra and Ajay Sen and system analyst CK Mishra. All were arrested by STF.
The High Court has already granted bail to Trivedi in cases pertaining to PMT-2012, PMT-2013, transport constables, forest guards, food inspectors, platoon commanders, contractual teachers’ grade II and III and constables recruitment 2012 and 2013 cases.
Lokayukta had unearthed huge properties owned by him in raids at his residence in Indore and Bhopal and that had led to the registration of disproportionate assets case against him.
Advocate Anil Khare, who appeared on behalf of Trivedi in the High Court, said, “After having secured bail in all Vypam-related cases, Trivedi has been granted bail by the HC in the case of assets disproportionate to known sources of income on Tuesday. He will be soon released from jail.”
