BHOPAL : The MP Nagar police on Wednesday arrested a man, who claiming to be the brother of a high official in PHQ, duped a man of Rs 12,000 in the name of helping him to get his son, arrested on charges of bike lifting, released. The same man duped another person in the Piplani area, posing self as a TI who recently got transferred from Betul and took his house on rent. The accused claims to have proximity with many high rank police officials.
TI MP Nagar Brijesh Bhargava said that on June 13 the Nilesh, son of Suresh Yadav was arrested on charges of vehicle lifting. His father Suresh Yadav in his complaint stated that when they were standing outside the police station to get their son released, accused Rajendra Deharia, 44, son of Jangalia Deharia, resident of Pratap Nagar Shankaracharya Ward Narsinghpur, claiming to be the brother of IPS Ravishankar Deharia posted at PHQ met them and said that he could get their son released by using his contacts. He took Rs 12,000 from Yadav and took him to PHQ where he asked Yadav to wait outside the premises and went inside.
After coming out he said that he had a conversation with higher officials and his son would be released. He asked Yadav to collect Rs 15,000 more.
TI Bhargava said that Deharia duped another man in Piplani area by taking his house on rent on JK Road posing as a TI who just got transferred from Betul. He even took Rs 1,000 from the landlord Pradeeep Saxena. On his complaint, the police have registered a case of cheating under section 420 of the IPC against the accused.
Bhargava said that there can be many people who might have been duped by the accused. The accused had fraudulently got a marketing job in Pharma Company also. The MP Nagar police following the complaint arrested the accused and registered a case against him under section 420 of the IPC.
