Tribal woman moves EC on cVIGIL app: Objects to CMO, council chief’s hubby talk

Manawar: In first of its kind case, a tribal woman from Banediya village lodged complaint related to violation of model code of conduct against Manawar chief municipal officer (CMO) Kailash Karma and council president’s husband and Congress leader Shivram Patidar on cVIGIL mobile application.

According to information, complainant Chandu alias Sunita, wife of Ramesh Kevada in her complaint on cVIGIL claimed that on April 8, when she visited chief municipal officer Karma’s office for some work, guard outside his office stopped her from entering the office.  However, she managed to enter his office where she found Congress leader and municipal council president’s husband Shivram Patidar discussing some issue with CMO Karma.

Complainant said only elected representatives can sit in a government office when model code of conduct is in force. She said Congress leader Patidar’s presence at CMO office is a violation of model code of conduct. She said Patidar is not an elected representative.

As Kevada lodged complaint, CMO Karma issued a press statement claiming that Patidar discussed issues related to a residential colony with him and their talks didn’t pertain to politics and elections.  When contacted, assistant election officer Satyanarayan Darro confirmed receiving complaint on cVIGIL app against CMO and the Congress leader. Darro said they forwarded report to district election officer.
