Submit memo addressing Governor, Chief Minister and Barwani district collector
Palsood : Members of Adivasi Ekta Parishad and AJAKS organisation submitted a memorandum to Palsood police chowki in-charge here on Saturday demanding a state holiday on World Tribal Day.
The memorandum was addressed to Governor, Chief Minister and Barwani district collector.
Treasurer of the tribal council Sardarmal Chauhan informed that United Nations has declared August 9 as the World Tribal Day in 1993 and appealed all the associate nations to observe the day. He said that despite the UN order, the state of Madhya Pradesh does not observe the day as a state holiday.
State president of council Gajanand Brahmane appealed the state government to observe August 9 as World Tribal Day and declare state holiday on the occasion.
