BHOPAL : Bharatiya Janata Party district president Toran Singh Dangi may get ticket from Vidisha in the upcoming by- polls. Vidisha assembly constituency was rendered vacant with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan relinquishing it.

As far as party candidate from Vidisha seat is concerned, Sadhana Singh, wife of Shivraj Singh Chauhan was leading amongst the contenders. With the party applying policy of not giving ticket to ministers’ kin in the coming Lok Sabha elections, chief minister is not willing to get ticket for Vidisha by- polls to his wife.

Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj too had supported Sadhana Singh but a consensus could not be arrived on this matter between her and Chauhan. Sources said Chauhan and Sushma have discussed over Dangi being made party candidate from Vidisha and his name could be declared this week.Dangi is known to be confidant of Chauhan and he played a key role in becoming district president.  There are chances of party workers showing resentment if Sadhna Singh is not made party candidate from Vidisha. This could also give an opportunity to other claimants to present their claim. Efforts are on to develop consensus on Dangi’s name.
