BHOPAL : In view of the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s visit to Sanchi on September 21, senior police officials took a meeting at police control room on Tuesday. A mock drill was also conducted at the airport, the same day.

The police officials discussed the security arrangements at the airport and the route through which the President will be going to  Sanchi.

 The traffic diversion in the City on September 21 was also discussed by the officials. Extra police force has been called from the neighbouring districts for the security of the VIPs who will be present in the City during the visit of the Sri Lankan President. Policemen in plain clothes will also be deployed at the airport and other important places to keep an eye on the suspected persons.

SP Anshuman Singh said that security arrangements and law and order situation was also discussed at the meeting for the upcoming festive season. However, the visit of the President was the main focus of the meeting on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the police conducted a mock drill at the Gandhi Nagar airport on Tuesday evening at around 4 pm. The rehearsal was a part of the security arrangements at the airport on September 21. The motive of the drill was to give an idea of the security arrangements of the airport to the policemen during the Sri Lankan President’s visit.

IG Vijay Yadav, SSP Yogesh Chaudhary, SP Arvind Saxena and other senior police officials were present at the meeting.
