Bhopal: A tiger cub has been located with tigress Panna- 213 and tiger 111 at Panna Tiger Reserve, taking the total count of the big game in the park to 25. The three were found at Amanganj buffer zone of the park.

This happens to be the 10th tiger cub at Panna after the launch of the rehabilitation scheme at the tiger- starved park less than four years back. Panna- 213 is the offspring of the only living old tigress T- 2 and has given birth for the second time. Panna- 213 had given birth to cubs on December 5, 2013.

But considering the safety and health of the cubs, the forest department did not disturb the mother by any kind of intervention. Later, when the tigress was out on a hunting trip with the twoand- half month- old cubs, on February 23, 2014, the park authorities followed and studied the pugmarks of a cub and established its existence.

It needs mention that earlier in August, 2013 the same tigress had given birth to another cub but had lost it in a span of 10 days due to inexperience in rearing.
