BHOPAL : “No matter how clever a criminal is, he would be caught one day,” said noted television and film actor director Rohit Roy, who was in the city to promote the new serial ‘Khooni Saaya’, launched on Investigation Discovery (ID) Channel being telecast from Monday to Saturday at 8 pm.

Talking about his experience while working for ‘Khooni Saaya’ Rohit said, “I had done almost everything that can be done on television but when the concept of ‘Khooni Saaya’ was presented before me I thought that this is a genre which I have never done before. People in India are great lovers of crime shows and I think ‘Khooni Saaya; was destined for me.” “I am the best host for these types of shows,” he added.

“In this one-hour show based on real-life incidents, besides playing the presenter, I also try to caution people as most of the criminals are family members, relatives, friends, neigbours or acquaintances of the victim. The thrust is on being careful, he further added.

Sharing details about the show, Rajiv Bakshi, Vice President Marketing (South Asia), Discovery Networks Asia Pacific, said “In the year 2000, FBI Files was broadcast on Discovery Channel for three years. Many channels followed suit and started similar shows. After we felt that it was going into an altogether different direction, we stopped it.”

On the need for the channel he said that we do not read news related to crimes beyond headlines. The channel would give an in depth knowledge and information on how the crime was committed and how the investigators nabbed the criminal.
