BHOPAL : The Bhopal crime branch on Sunday busted an inter-state gang of burglars with the arrest of three of its members – two siblings and their relative – and recovered jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession. The accused had purchased an expensive car with the money which they had amassed by selling stolen booty.
The arrested accused confessed that they had committed burglaries in Maharashtra and Rajasthan in addition to Bhopal. The crime branch collaborated with the Koh-e-Fiza Police to launch an operation to nab the accused.
Acting on a tip off, the crime branch swung into action and swooped down two youths appearing to be members of Pardi community trying to sell two gold rings.
They were searching for potential customers in the market. During interrogation, they were identified as Sachin Pardi and Sohel Pardi, both residents of Ehsan Nagar, Nishatpura. Both are siblings. Sohel, who initially misled the cops, told police that he and his brother stole gold rings from Koh-e-Fiza six months ago. Sachin was earlier jailed in a theft case of Govindpura.
In separate interrogation, they confessed that they committed theft, burglary in various police stations areas including Habibganj, Kolar, Jehangirabad, TT Nagar, Bairagarh, Nishatpura. They used to sell the stolen jewellery to Raees. They told the police that they have hidden the stolen booty at Mundikhedi, Sehore, and Ehsan Nagar. Booty was recovered from Raees.
