BHOPAL: Three people lost their lives while 13 others were severely injured after an SUV in which they were on their way back to Bineka village from a Church after celebrating Christmas, rammed into tree near Bamhori Dhaba in Raisen district in the early hours of Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police, Raisen, KB Sharma said the incident took place at around 1.30 am near Bamhori Dhaba under Sultanpur police station while 16 people were returning from church located at Semri Kalan after offering prayer on Christmas, in a Tata Sumo bearing registration number MP- 15- DA- 0217.
Sharma said that in the mishap Father Jenson, 32, son of Joyee who was driving the jeep and sister Mary ( 50) died on the spot while Bheem, 16, son of Bhuriya died during the treatment at Hamidia hospital.
SHO, Sultanpur police station, Ajay Rajauriya said that as many as 13 people got injured in the mishap who were admitted at Hamidia Hospital from where they were they were taken to Narmada Hospital.
Rajauriya said that the injured people were named Sunita Bai, 21, wife of Rajesh, from Bineka village, Shimon, 21, son of Robert, Marshal, 47, son of Marcos, Aradhna, 7, daughter of Anil, Rajesh, 24, son of Motiya, Anil, 40, son of Marshal, Aneeta, 20, daughter of Motiya, Jyoti, 14 and Mariya, 19.
Rajairiya added that out of the injured 13 people, who were undergoing treatment at Narmada hospital, the condition of three was said to be critical.
