Thieves rob temple of valuables and cash

Badnawar : The Jain temple, located at Nichlawaas, was robbed on Saturday, wherein the burglars took away silver crown of the idols, a couple of silver ‘Chattra’, temple offerings worth 50-60 thousand rupees, DVR, hard-disk and monitor.

As per the information received, the ornaments are estimated to be of around 50,000 rupees. Similarly the CCTV appliances, that have also been estimated to be of 50,000, have been robbed. When the Pujari reached the temple, he noticed that the lights of the temple were switched off, he realized that something was wrong and it was only then that he got to know about the robbery. Pujari Kailashchandra, then informed the incharge of the temple, Kushal Chopra and Mahendra Sundecha. As soon as the police was informed, they reached the spot and started the inspection. After inspection, it was concluded that the burglars had entered the temple by breaking the lock of the main gate. They then smashed all the CCTV cameras and took away the footages as well. It may be noted that the thieves left the coins from the temple offering box and took away the currency notes. The police is investigating as of now.
