In MP over 90 deaths have been reported out of 434 swine flu cases said, Health department sources here today. Forty two swine deaths have been reported from Bhopal till today. Seventeen Swine flu deaths have been reported from Bhopal proper so far. Similarly, 25 patients died during treatment in various hospitals of Bhopal but they belonged to outside areas of the state capital and had come to Bhopal for treatment.
Health department officials said that the disease, spread by the H1N1 virus, is typically seen in monsoon and winter seasons when the temperature provides a conducive environment for growth of the virus. New cases are expected to drop in numbers as temperature rises in summer. However, this year even in mid-March, the temperature is below normal and thus the cases are still continuing.
CMHO Dr NU Khan said, “So far 17 deaths have been reported from Bhopal proper while 25 deaths are such patients who died in Bhopal during treatment but they were outsiders from nearby districts or areas. Today, nine samples were sent for testing but only four came positives and no deaths have been reported.”
