BHOPAL : The role of a wife of a powerful minister of the state in the Vyapam scam seems to be getting clearer by the day. Vyapam scam accused Sudhir Sharma admitted during police remand that he got candidates clear forest guard recruitment examination but without any consideration.
Sudhir also admitted that he got candidates selected on the recommendation of wife of a Minister in the state government. Sudhir had forwarded several names for the forest guard recruitment examination, which also include candidates recommended by wife of this minister.
Sudhir had given as many as 25 names including Rupesh Dwivedi, Mukesh Sharma, Vipnesh Dwivedi, Dhirendra Dwivedi, Sanjay Singh, and Preetam Singh Chauhan to former Controller Pankaj Trivedi.
The involvement of Minister’s wife came to fore when the Excel Sheet was extracted from the hard disk of Vyapam scam accused former System Analyst Nitin Mahindra. Sudhir’s statement has proved that Minister’s wife had recommended candidates for selection through Vyapam but STF is still trying to protect her. One Kamlesh Rai, who allegedly got selected through Minister’s wife recommendations was initially arrested by STF but he was later released. On the contrary, other accused have not yet been released.
The name of Ajay Shankar Mehta, who was released on bail in Police Constable Recruitment Scam, also surfaced in irregularities in forest guard recruitment examination. Mehta got one Abhinav Sharma selected in forest guard recruitment examination. Despite getting evidences against Mehta, STF is not arresting him in forest guard recruitment scam. Mehta has connections with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and earlier he was Vice President of Janabhiyaan Parishad.
